My husband and I had a condom that broke (and we will take our chances with what happens - I won't take plan B). Freightliner/Cummins tech needed. Where is the lift pump and could it be my problem?

I have a 2006 Freightliner MT45 with a Cummins 5.9 in it. My problem first presented itself as a surging condition, during acceleration, that would go away if I shut the truck off and restarted it. Yesterday the surging got really bad, and now the truck will start and idle, then stall. I replaced the fuel filter and strainer... both were badly clogged with debris. The problem is still present. So far everyone I talk to says it could be the lift pump. Is the lift pump located in the tank? Is there a simple way to diagnose it? Does this sound like my problem?

Hi, should I change my perspective on people? Here's my situation..?

I always find myself to be the guy who's looking to chat with friends, etc.. and make new ones, whether at school or in outside activities. But I find it rare that people have sought me out to genuinely see how I'm doing or ask to meet up to hang out. I find this happened in the workplace too (I'm currently in between jobs). I feel a bit tired of searching people out and saying "hey want to do this or that - hit a pub, etc.." since I find myself the one who asks this often. I have seen some 'friends' answer back with a certain "I guess..sure" answer (they don't reply with an uplifting tone). And sometimes some people don't even reply back or I have to contact them multiple times (email, telephone) before they confirm. So, yeah it does look kind of sad. Actually, not even kind of. My question thus is: should I stop 'taking the initiative' and see, next time, if my 'friends' or 'colleagues' call the first shot in regard to making plans to get together? I don't want to be anti-social, especially now, since as a job hunter, I hear from career coaches that networking is the number way to land a position these days. But at the same time, I don't want to feel that I'm this annoying friend of someone's. I don't want to be that guy who when one picks up the phone or reads his email, the person is thinking 'oh man, not him... ". Also, I like SSD's but their price doesn't justify their performance e for me. Yea you can put the OS on the ssd and shave like 8 seconds off boot time, but that isn't worth it in my opinion. I have an incredible friend who is torn right now. He left his 12 year marriage 5 years ago to be with another woman. (Not me, I am just his friend) but they broke up last year. (they never divorced due to military benefits) the issue is now, he is seriously considering reconciling with his ex wife, living together as a family for the sake of the girls- but not 'together' (he said that part of the marriage is dead and buried.) I want him to seek therapy- as does he, but due to his very senior ranking in the military it is not possible for him to seek therapy without it potentially tarnishing his record. He is suffering with doubt and confusion as he adores his daughters, and is concerned that him not living with them will damage them in the future, as well as the fact they do not have a Dad in their day to day life. The Mum has not re partnered, and is obviously open to the idea of reconciling 'for the kids'. Obviously I do not know the nitty gritty, but he is really struggling, and I am hoping someone out there can help, as he needs it. Even another voice and opinion, as he has no one to discuss this with, and has little experience with divorce etc. I have plenty of opinions on the matter, growing up as a child of divorce, as well as being divorced and having a grown child. Again, I am not vested in this situation, from a romantic viewpoint, he is my friend, I just want him to be happy, and I do not think he can see straight regarding the matter, and my personal opinion is that he could do more damage going back, having the girls have him, seeing a loveless marriage and him possibly leaving again> Thoughts, much appreciated, from all viewpoints. Why am I having surges of adrenaline and tingling feelings up my arms?

I know what you're going to say-- I should see a doctor, but I'm wanting to know if anyone has any idea what's going on with me or if they've experienced the same thing before. This has been going on for about 3 months or so. It will generally happen on and off all day for several days at a time. I get these random surges of adrenaline (that's the best way I can describe the feeling) it almost seems to come on as suddenly and quickly as a single heartbeat. Power supply issue...?

Here's the deal. I have an eMachines desktop that I haven't had any problems with up until recently. I noticed that it won't power on at all now. I've researched a little and I'm guessing that the power supply is shot. Here's something to add to the equation. I pulled out my older Dell to use in the mean time and it started to power up and when I come back to it, the amber light is blinking on the power button. Therefore, I have no power to either computer. I tried plugging both computers into a different outlet to see if maybe it was the surge protector. I also tried out a different power cord. at the moment I've been using acne solutions foundation from clinique. i went to this foundation after nothing but clogged pores from covergirl. i usually only have acne on my chin so i was hoping that clinique would help. at night i wash first with a neutrogena pore cleanser, then with a neutrogena green scrub, then st. ives blackhead fighter, then clinique's acne solution. i also have a solution from the dermatologist which i put on my acne spots every night. This has been happening since the seventh grade. I would be fine one minute, then I would turn my head and I would have a burst of pain shoot up from the base of my neck up to the back right section of my head. My cat has been electrocuted..what do I do?

Okay, apparently I baught the playstation protection plan for 2 years and i noticed that my original receipt is faded BUT the barcode is still here. unfortunately, the receipt doesnt say I baught a ps3. I called sony and asked them and they said that if it doesnt say i got a ps3 my warranty is void and i threw away 50 dollars. NOW I call gamestop and they said that the guy i talked to was full of crap because as long as the barcode is still on the receipt they will be able to accept my claim because barcode is supposed to prevent warranty fraud. Once you have sold an item, you can't change the amount on the books (I'm not sure why you would want to). If these are items that you purchased for resale, you can right down the items under certain conditions (damaged, obsolescence, etc.).

Hello, so I recently (almost 2 months in July 9) got a job at a toy company. I was hired as a Day Porter at this toy company. But I was hired by a facility services company, not the toy company. I was never asked to fill out an application, nothing. They didn't even know y name, phone number, address, NOTHING. They hired me, gave me a job. I accepted because it was my cousins wife's job, so I thought it would be safe. When it came time to pay me (Monthly btw) I was told by the "manager" that I wouldn't be payed until the 26th of June. (I started working may 9 2011) and I was expecting them to pay me May 9 2011- June 26th. That's what the guy told me. When he payed me (gave me a personal check that was labeled House Cleaning Services) I was ONLY payed for the month of may. Turns out they were going to pay me a month behind. meaning they'd owe me a month every month. I didn't like that so I complained and they accused and threatened me. they said "We know you're an illegal immigrant." They insulted me, told me that I was going to fix everything (since I complained to the toy company, I didn't think it was fair that that's toy company was paying the facility service company to hire employees and pay them). Turns out EVERY janitor/day porter is an illegal immigrant. Not me. Even the manager guy who gives out these personal checks. The facility service company contacted me and told me to fix this and basically apologize. They said they knew I was illegal (im not btw wtf) and that I wouldn't want to get involved with homeland security and ice. My question is, is this legal? supposedly the facility company hired sub contractors. Is it legal to know your employees are illegal and still pay them? HELP!

Detecting fake IDs and DLs?

I work at a Valero. Before I got hired on, I had to take my TABC. I have to admit, although I did pass the test, I learned it's not so easy to detect a fake ID as how my test made it sound. I am from Texas and see Texas IDs and DLs daily from cigarette and alcohol purchases. My main concern is, if there is any way possible to detect a fake by just observing it, besides the basic stuff like feeling the ridges, the magnetic strip, and the UV logo under the surface. I know there's many legit fakes out there, so I want to become excellent at detecting these things. One more question...does every ID or DL have a magnetic strip? I have come across a few from different states without it, that only have what seems to look like a large barcode. Could this be a sign of it being fake?

How do I know what's wrong with my PC?

I was having problems with my computer shutting down on its own and then I wasn't noticing a fan running prior to the issues. One day I came to the computer and nothing would turn on. I also noticed that the outlet had been tripped because other things plugged into the surge protector were reset. I purchased a power supply and replaced it but nothing is turning on. Use the quick selection or lasso tool to select the part of the picture you want to put into the background picture and then use the move tool to drag it into the background picture. Right okay, Its probably not urgent but here it goes.. During the last year i have been diagnosed with anxiety, i'm on 3 different types of medication: Mirtazapine, diazepam and propranolol. This combo has worked over recent times and i find it a good combination to help me through times. The propranolol has been for my fast heart rate and like 99% works a treat, but for about 4 days now i have had an extremely tight chest, my heart rate seems to be fluctuating between 130-170 bpm; to me this resembles a normal but not quite frequent panic attack.. but the scare came when i just took my dose of propranolol and diazepam and about 20 minutes later my right eye lost vision and my body felt numb, like completly numb i got such a surge of adrenaline i hoped out of my chair and and fell straight to the floor, heart racing and a hallucination so scary i seriously cant take this medication again. making my way to the phone to dial 999 i heard a voice in my head screaming not to phone its a waste of time, and no matter how i try i seriously cant do it and when someone asks if i'm okay i cant help but say im fine when quite clearly i'm in so much panic. I am training and doing a university degree in psychology and never have i crossed something like this since studying. it has all the symptoms of a panic attack, but ive experienced panic attack so bad ive passed out and so forth, so this seems much different. Typing this im calming down again but i feel it will happen again. is this something to be concerned about? P.S i also studied medicine for about 6 months, and the likely candidate for this could be a paradoxal effect of the diazepam/mirtazapine. but i cant help still imagining it happening again.

Advise or similar stories welcomed......WARNING:it is long!?

My LMP was May 23 and my cycles range from 28(rare)-37(rare) days long with most of my cycles being about 33-35 days. My hubby and I did our little baby dance every day to every other during the week of June 6th-14th which should have been prime ovulating time. We were on vacation and in the ocean/pool every day all day so I didn't notice any stretchy/sticky cm but I do get it every single month! I do not temp. but I did use ovulation sticks and would get two lines but the test was never as dark as the control so either I missed my surge, my urine was too dilute or I didn't ovulate(which I doubt). I forget the exact date but around the 17th of this month I felt a sharp pinch on my right side and I was thinking ovulation or implantation. I took another OPK and got two lines again with the test still lighter than the control. Since then I have had cramping(especially on right side), alternating diarrhea and constipation, tiredness, increased urination, and still no period but the real kicker is my boob KILL! My boobs never hurt before my period but they kill on the sides, nipple is itchy and they feel fuller. Today is day 36 and still no period. I took a first response early pregnancy test this evening and it was negative. I will re-test in a couple days which feels like forever. I honestly feel pregnant. I have occasional bouts of some scant nauseous feeling but it never stays. Anyone else test negative with the early tests and still end up pregnant? what do you think? Please do not be rude and say "just test" because that is not what I am asking!

I've served for 13 years and four deployments. After my last tour my wife of 13 years decided she wanted nothing more to do with me or our children. Why has the oven (both bake and broil) on my electric range oven stopped working?

This is the second time this has happened this year! The first time it happened we simply replaced our older appliance with a slightly newer, used one. This one is a GE and has no clock or any self-cleaning controls. It just has the 4 range/burner controls with a single oven control in the middle, which controls both oven temperature and broil. Neither the broil nor baking features work at all, and the indicator light does not come on when I turn on the oven. The range seems to be working fine, however. What's the problem? I live in an area where we can get some pretty wicked lightning and the phone lines get hit a lot, so I was thinking maybe I should replace my second surge protector with another one that has the phone line protection and then have the phone line protected on two surge protectors rather than one, so then there is a much better chance nothing will get hit. Will this work like planned or is it possible the two protectors may slow down the signals or something? I want to make sure so then I don't get another protector and find out oooh this really cut down my phone line strength or something.

Passport as an ID at a bar with a scanning machine?

I've been 18 since March but I don't have a driver's license or permit so I have been using my passport as valid ID to get into local bars (I live in New Orleans where 18 is the age to get into bars, not 21). It's worked fine at every bar I've been to but I'm going to one tomorrow night for a graduation party that uses an ID scanner apparently so that they can seed out people's fake licenses and whatnot. There is a barcode on the last page of my passport, but I wanted to know if that would work on this scanner? The picture clearly looks like me and my birthday is on there. I have health insurance cards to provide additional proof of my name. So I just wanted to know if my passport would scan at this bar?

Yes, of course; many *actual* pos systems don't have barcode readers. You just need some sort of screen with big buttons for selling stuff. For instance, hotels don't have barcode readers, because they sell services, not products with serial numbers that can be passed in front of of the POS terminal and scanned. Instead, they just have buttons like "standard room" and digits for entering the amount etc. You can also just let them type in the bar code numbers. Make the barcode entry area activate with a certain keyboard shortcut, and it would work with a barcode scanner when you program it to enter the shortcut itself.

A couple months ago I splurged and bought 5 purses that were on sale, $20.00 - $30.00 price range on all 5..I haven't used any of the bags, and all their tags are still attached however I don't have the original receipt. If I were to take these purses back to JcPenneys, would they be able to give me an in-store credit? Onkyo TX-NR708 problem?

I have had this receiver for since it came out and it has worked fine until today. I don't know why but when the power went out the HDMI ins stopped working. The only thing I can get from the HDMI is the setup menu for the receiver, and a blue screen from the receiver that means there is no signal. Like all of my expensive things, it is connected to a surge protector and my tv works fine and my cable box shows the time and I can change the channels so, that might rule out a blowout. I am pretty good at solving problems by myself, but this is really annoying. I was really hoping that I don't have to send it back and that means being without a receiver for two weeks or more. That seems like what I have to do unless I missed something.

First response ovulation tests?

Can someone tell me about them? I just wanted to know if I was at risk of ovulating - I kind of ovulate at different times, it's not always the same. So I was just curious if anyone knew like how long to wait before urinating to take a test and if you get a light line, I know you are not supposed to count that as a positive test, but could it mean that ovulation would be coming soon if you saw a line? The tests I have say you can have a line or not have a line and it should be the same color to indicate a LH surge. But wouldn't a ligther line mean the LH surge is coming?

hello everyone. ok so i was taking the first response daily ovulation kit and got my first positive this past friday on the 17th. i tested for the next two days after that and was still getting positives. can anyone tell me WHEN i might have ovulated? also intercourse with hubby took place every day from the 13th until the 20th, and again i got my first positive ovulation test on the 17th. when might have i ovulated, and what are the chances i will become pregnant? oh, and is it normal to have more than one positive test for the lh surge/? three days straight? thanks for your help!

I had an IUI when I ouvlated but my RE couldn't see a follicle?

I got an "almost positive" ovulation tuesday night (it was too close to call) and then Wednesday I got a full on positive on two different tests. So I scheduled the IUI at 1 that day. Well so they did the IUI and after wards she checked my ovaries and said she couldn't find anything. She said since I got a positive the night before that I might have just ovulated right before I came in for my appointment. She did bloodwork on me just to be sure I wasn't having a false positive. She called me back and said I did have my LH surge and that I was ovulating after they got the results. Well shouldn't she have seen like a ruptured follicle or something then, even if I did ovulate? She saw nothing and that really concerns me. My follicle was somewhat small 15mm only 3 days before this. It was growing on average of 1.25mm a day so it might have been around 18 mm on the day I ovulated. Is that too small? Did I miss the window for the IUI?
