I get random surges of pain in the back right part of my head and back of my neck?

This has been happening since the seventh grade. I would be fine one minute, then I would turn my head and I would have a burst of pain shoot up from the base of my neck up to the back right section of my head. I wouldn't be able to move and barely talk for a good 10 seconds after it happened. In the seventh grade, they would happen at least every other day. They went away for a while and I forgot about them for a few years, then they started coming back recently. They aren't as common as they used to be, but it's enough for me and my mom to notice. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening to me?
