Does anyone know about ovulation tests?

My husband and I had a condom that broke (and we will take our chances with what happens - I won't take plan B). I wanted to know though if there really was a risk for getting pregnant at this point in my cycle so i have some ovulation tests. I am about on day 9 of my cycle but I got pregnant around that time with our last child and my cycle is usually regular but sometimes it just throws me for a loop and i ovulate early. I just wanted to know if anyone knew anything about ovulation tests and if there is a line, even if it's lighter, could it mean that a LH surge is coming? Should I wait at least 4 hours since the last time I used the restroom like with a pg test? I am not getting much response on the TTC board and I know a lot of you women on here are very knowledgeable so thank you for any answers.
