Will this surge protector help protect a Mac from a thunderstorm?

I have a power strip that has a surge protector. FYI, it says "Northeastern" on the front and the model # is SP6. I looked on Rite-Tech's (the manufacturer) Website, and dug up the following information about the surge protector function: The unit has a surge protection rating of 2100 Joules at maximum, the maximum input voltage allowed is 125 volts, the maximum input current is 15 ampeters, its clamping voltage has been tested at up to 6 KV's (kilovolts?), and its clamping current has been tested at up to 3 KA's (kiloampeters?) and there may be EMI/RFI noise filtering. (the site lists that feature as optional)
