Six Flags Read to Succeed ticket bar codes are at opposite end?

Ok, I purchased these 2 student tickets on Ebay and noticed that the bar codes are on the opposite end this year. If you have seen these tickets, you will know what I am talking about.. They are on the end that you would normally keep with all the school information on them. I filled in the required information myself and signed my own name to it.. My question is -- Can I rip this part off and only hand them the ticket part with out the barcode??
